This AR project aims to transform the way people engage with architectural heritage by combining augmented reality, storytelling, and game-based learning. Using the Ampire & Co. Building—a Queen Anne Revival style architecture in Shanghai — as the setting, we designed an AR experience guided by Paddington Bear to help users learn architectural features through exploration and interaction.
AR Experience
The front façade of the building (across the street) serves as the starting point, allowing users to observe the overall architecture.
Paddington Bear appears as a guide to lead the experience.
As users approach the window, they hear "indoor" sounds representing the evolution of the Queen Anne style across different historical periods.
These layered historical voices aim to give users a more concrete understanding of the Queen Anne architectural style.
Three puzzles introduce key features of the Queen Anne style.
A multiple-choice question tests users' initial understanding of the Queen Anne style.
Users return to the building’s front façade for final interaction.
At this stage, users can further test their understanding of the Queen Anne style.
